I read and loved ELIGIBLE by Curtis Sittenfeld, so I was excited to give this one a try!
This collection of short stories was fun and engaging. Sittenfeld’s writing is succinct; though I usually find short stories frustratingly simple and boring, Sittenfeld is masterful in her delivery. Each story had an element to it that I wanted to know more about; how she did that in just 20-30 pages is beyond me!
Though I’d find it hard to pick a favorite, there were several that stand out to me: Plausible Deniability, The Prairie Wife, and Gender Studies.
If you’ve read it already, which story was your favorite?
