Generally speaking, I’m not a huge fan of the thriller/mystery genre. But what THE SILENT PATIENT made me realize is that I thoroughly enjoy them if they include a good psychological twist.
This book intrigued me – a woman shoots her husband and then goes silent. And by silent, I mean not a word, not a peep, for the next several years. The full story is slowly revealed when a new psychiatrist gets a job at the patient facility where this woman now lives.
This book had twists and turns I didn’t see coming – especially the one at the end! Michaelides writing has me on the edge of my seat and I could wait to see how this would all come together. I almost read it in one sitting…I couldn’t put it down. (That’s also one thing I appreciate about this genre – quick, fast-paced storylines.)
Now, I hope you’re still reading because I have something to announce! A GIVEAWAY! See those cute candles? They are absolutely amazing!
