For someone who knew next to nothing about cystic fibrosis, this book was an engaging way to learn a little more about it. I’ve followed fellow #bookstagrammer @readwithkat for sometime, and what I’ve learned from her is that most cases of cystic fibrosis are very individualized. It’s hard to categorize the symptoms as the same for each person.
I read this book with my 11-year-old daughter (thank goodness because there are more mature sexual themes than I prefer her to read at this point in time) and we both really enjoyed it. The last few pages had both of us in tears! However, don’t let that last sentence dissuade you; it’s a very hopeful and happy ending, it’s just that the writing of that ending was so beautiful it brought me to tears.
Thank you, Katherine, for bringing this book to my attention! It is also a movie that just released last week, so now I’m excited to sit down to watch it!
Also, can we talk about that gorgeous cover?!?! So well done!
