Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Bionic Book Worm. Here is a list of her Top 5 Topics for May.

These are the Top 5 books that I want to be sure to read this summer. Reviews are starting to come in for each of them and I’m excited!

Would if Hillary Rodham hadn’t married Bill Clinton? That’s the question Sittenfeld takes on and I’m here for it. I’ve seen great reviews so far, and I’m just waiting impatiently for my copy that seems to have been lost in the mail. 👎🏼

Stray by: Stephanie Danler

I always love a good memoir – it’s one of my favorite genres – especially when the author gets real vulnerable and honest. I never read her first book, Sweetbitter, but I’m excited for this one!

The Vanishing Half by: Brit Bennett

The Mothers is still one of the best books I’ve ever read, so my expectations for this one are sky high! A few of my trusted reviewers have already called it one of the best books of the year!

Mexican Gothic by: Silvia Moreno-Garcia

This is a bit of a risk on my part because I’m not always crazy about folk lore or fairy tales, but I just couldn’t resist that cover! I also didn’t realize this is the same author that wrote Gods of Jade and Shadow until I wrote this post, and I know a lot of people really liked that one. It’s sitting on my shelf…😬

Friends and Strangers by: J. Courtney Sullivan

I love, love, love Sullivan’s other novel, Saints for All Occasions, so there wasn’t a doubt that this highly anticpated book would be added to my list! The synopsis sounds like something I can really relate to – a stay-at-home mom living in a small town.

What are some books that are on your Must Read List this summer?

  1. Sad to say I didn’t care for Stray. I didn’t see any vulnerability in it. But I know Sarah really liked it- you can be the deciding vote for our trio!

I’m avidly waiting for Kevin Kwan’s new book, Sex and Vanity. Also, David Mitchell’s Utopia Avenue even though it’s over 500 pages!
