August 2020 TBR

This month’s Unread Shelf Challenge for the Unread Shelf Challenge hosted by Whitney at The Unread Shelf is to particpate in a buddy read. Because I h a t e buddy reads, I’m using my wild card and not taking part in the official challenge. My main focus on books this month will center around egalley books and BIG books (books over 500 pages long)!

To help me whiddle down my books, I have a few categories I’d like to try to hit each month:

  • A Backlist Title: Wanderers by Chuck Wendig
  • A BOTM Title: Free Food for Millionaires by Min Jin Lee
  • A Nonfiction Title: Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents by Isabel Wilkerson
  • A NetGalley/Edelweiss Title: Golden Gates: Fighting for Housing in America by Conor Dougherty
  • A Memoir: This Is All I Got by Lauren Sandler
  • At least 2 physical ARCs: Love After Love by Ingrid Persaud and The Book of Two Ways by Jodi Picoult

Other books up for consideration:

  • The Overstory by Richard Powers
  • Hollywood Park by Mikel Jollett
  • Magic Lessons by Alice Hoffman
  • The Bright Lands by John Fram
  • The Death of Vivek Oji by Akwaeke Emezi

What books are on your list of hopefuls for August?
