I’m so excited about today’s topic! I started this blog 3 ½ years ago and joined #bookstagram around the same time. It took me a looooong time to find people who read similarly to me. Don’t get me wrong, I love having people that take me outside my comfort reading (and my reading taste has expanded greatly since starting both accounts), but sometimes it’s nice knowing who your go-to sources are.
I’m sharing five of mine with you today. I hope I can introduce you to some new bookish friends, and I’d love to have any suggestions you may have for me!!
Sarah’s Book Shelves
I was so unbelievably happy to find Sarah! She’s definitely one of my bookish twins and I consider her a friend even though we haven’t met IRL (yet)! Her book commentary is the best and her podcast is one of my favorites!
I’m pretty sure I found Susie through Sarah (pretty cool how these tiny subcommunities form!), and it’s certainly enhanced my reading life! Susie has a very straight-forward reviewing style and I know I can count on her opinion!
Catherine’s reviews are a work of art! They are so well-thought out and give you a good idea if a book is a fit for you or not. I really appreciate her insights!
(Again, thanks to Sarah for this introduction as well!)
Hollie and I have very similar reading taste and she’s my favorite Canadian bookish friend! She has somehow mastered reading and running on the treadmill at the same time, and I swear she ages in reverse!
Kaytee Cobb & Meredith Monday Schwartz of the Currently Reading Podcast
Here’s a two-for-one for you! Meredith and Kaytee run the Currently Reading podcast and I love their episodes! I also align nicely with both of their reading tastes!
I'm a book lover of all genres - my favorites are memoir, contemporary fiction, historical fiction, and self-help/non-fiction.

This is great! I recently subscribed to Sarah’s patreon and I’m loving all the extra content.
Again, Carla thank you. I’m blown away by the company you’ve put me in. It is funny how bookish connections develop. I agree that we found each other via Sarah and I’m so glad we did. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, no matter how it looks this year.

Same to you, Susie! And here’s to 2021 looking more normal. At least we have books to escape into!
